Org doesn't reliable display these as links if they have hard breaks.
Closes #9000.

|
This follows the current default org-mode behavior.
Closes: #3245

T.P.Writers.Shared `endsWithPlain` now returns True if
the list ends with a list which ends with a Plain.
See #7810.
|
|
The code to do this was apparently copied over from the RST
writer, but these blank lines aren't necessary or desirable
in org. See #7810 comment 3.
|
|
This complements #7806 by supporting writing Org ordered lists that
start at a specific number.

Previously we used our own homespun formatting. But this
produces over-long lines that aren't ideal for diffs in tests.
Easier to use something off-the-shelf and standard.
Closes #7580.
Performance is slower by about a factor of 10, but this isn't
really a problem because native isn't suitable as a serialization
format. (For serialization you should use json, because the reader
is so much faster than native.)

We previously indented them by two spaces, following a
common convention. Since the convention is fading, and
the indentation is inconvenient for copy/paste, we are
discontinuing this practice.
Closes #5440.

Org works better with LaTeX-style delimiters.

As of ~2 years ago, lower case keywords became the standard (though they
are handled case insensitive, as always):

Upper case keywords are exclusive to the manual:

Emacs always uses two spaces when indenting the content of src blocks,
e.g., when exiting a `C-c '` edit-buffer. Pandoc used to indent contents
by the space-equivalent of one tab, but now always uses two spaces, too.
Closes: #5440

This improves on the original fix to #5285 by preventing
other mixed lists (lists with a mix of Plain and Para
elements) that were allowed given the original fix.

Org doesn't recognize these escapes.
Closes #4882.

This reverts commit 1a81751cef330d875cc34f11cde4a0d478969db7.

See #4036.
Close examination by org experts needed, to ensure that
nothing breaks.

This is now the default for pandoc's Markdown.
It allows whitespace between the two parts of a
reference link: e.g.
[a] [b]
[b]: url
This is now forbidden by default.
Closes #2602.

The org writer was inserting two spaces after list bullets. Emacs
Org-mode defaults to a single space, so behavior is changed to reflect
this.
